Ms. Ishimaru comes to South Pasadena Middle Schoool via San Mateo, Ca. where she was a middle school counselor for the past 8 years. She completed her counseling internship at the secondary level in LAUSD. Prior to counseling, Ms. Ishimaru has taught kindergarten through 6th grade in both Los Angeles and Hawaii for 11 years. Ms. Ishimaru's focus in counseling is the "whole child", focusing on ways to help students be emotionally and academically sound as well as guiding them to be successful advocates for themselves. Ms. Ishimaru is excited and happy to be a team member of SPMS!
